U.S. Citizen and Notary Services

02:00 - 03:30 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday except for Brazilian and American holidays.

The American Citizen Services (ACS) Section at the U.S. Embassy Brasília operates by appointment only for all customers needing non-emergency services, including passports, reports of birth, and notary services. Scheduling appointments allows us to provide better, more efficient service to the public. Please note that requests for consular inscriptions, Social Security issues, questions about voting, etc., are considered “other services.”

Emergency Assistance

Emergencies include death, arrest, stolen or lost passports. Emergency services do not require an appointment.

U.S. Consular Agencies

The U.S. Embassy in Brasilia maintains a Consular Agency in Manaus to provide services to all U.S. Citizens located in the states of the North area in Brazil: Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Pará, Rondonia, Roraima e Tocantins.

Important! U.S. citizen services for consular agencies must be scheduled through phone or email. Check the Manaus page for instructions on how to schedule your appointment.

    For security reasons, visa applicants and American citizens are not allowed to enter the Consulates or the Embassy grounds with bags (with the exception of one small purse), cell phones or any other electronic devices.
